My Home, My Haven ~ home tour Sahil

And finally... I got around to showing you this gorgeous home.... Its time for a home tour *smiles*...

A home is truly a reflection of your heart...

Introducing : Sahil

My Name is Sahil. I have been in WI for around two years, I recently got married so I am still in the transition of re-decorating and adjusting to the changes in my life, I was in the Design field In Atlanta,Ga... know I am a Wisconsin housewife and with a lot of free time in my hands to re-design, create and decorate my own house which I enjoy a lot. I live in a rental house which It gives me a lot of restrictions but I am still working around them, but i can used a lot of other things to brighten up my space.

The home have  light colored walls which let  experiment with colors and textiles that reflect my  love for Indian beauty and art. I love color, so it is not a set color scheme in my house, today is red tomorrow can be blue... It's a bit of color everywhere.... My house is a collector’s paradise, I love to collect knick knacks and decorative items, I hunt everywhere I go, for things I can add to my collection, Every piece I find is a treasure. Everything in my house I have collected over the years.

I enjoy reading, painting, creating art, drawing and design just to name a few. I have been collecting Buddha’s and Ganesha’s for many years, I have a pretty nice size collection Ganesha’s which few of them are made by me, some as gifts, and some from my travels. I have many of them, that are to me really special and sentimental keepsakes. One of the many Ganesha’s I have it was a wedding gifts from my husband in our wedding day, what a better gift than that?

Let’s start with the Pooja Room...My pooja place is a big area in my second bedroom which this room is my office/pooja room,The Pooja area started as a small corner and with time I keep adding things so know my office area is in a small corner dominated by the Pooja Area.

My dining area, has a wall unit that i built  to holds many of my Ganesha’s also holds many of the brass items that i have collected throughout the years and a museum like display of Ganesha’s in another wall.

My Living room is mainly Decorated with Buddha’s from tiny ones to a really big one which is the Focal point of my living room which in from has an aromatic water feature that changes colors.

So tell me... what do you think of this gorgeous home...

The Weekly Story ~ wk 91

Hello my loves.... How are you all doing!! I return this week... sometime today.... and get straight back into my mental life... of work... kids.... home.. and holiday homework...*sigh*.... And all those assignments that we did nothing about for all these months....

Today's post.... takes you back into the 'Makeover series'....

Staying on the topic of walls, artwork also provides a wall with an instant bit of oomph. This can be your own painted works, photographs you’ve taken, artwork purchased at thrift stores, or simply reprints on canvas or photo paper that are well framed. Try and stick to a theme, be it colours, frame types or photo subjects - again, such walls become favourites with visiting guests.

Another great option is to combine any of the above artwork with wooden windows - have a peek at your closest thrift or antique shop and you might just get lucky.  A collaboration of wall hangings, artwork, mirrors, wood work, coloured frames, in different shapes and sizes can create magic on a plain wall.

Art in an unexpected place can be a mood elevator. Place artwork in your bathrooms or frame a printout or a small painting and pop it on the kitchen counter. Consider using funny pictures, quotes or even framed jigsaw puzzles - it all adds to the feel of your own space and puts your subtle signature around your home.

If your chosen area of redecoration involves expanses of floor, consider using a mix of artwork, large statues, an ornate lamp, or a  Moroccan lamp hanging off the ceiling. Chimes, clay bells and occasionally even just a few fairy lights can do the trick.

Larger pieces of artwork, or even mirrors, can be simply placed on the floor. The advantages lies in the fact that the wall and floor simultaneous get a flash of character and also, any wires, electrical plugs or outlets, can be easily hidden.  Layer the pieces for that extra touch of style and you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised with the end result.

And the below is a one of my favorite little things shelf at my friend Jina's home.... The shelf speaks of her travel stories... Isn't that nice?

And this image is from an old ... old .. magazine... I had saved this ages ago... and don't remember the magazine name... or the person whose home this is....

But it is a true inspiration... *smiles*

Makeover Stories ~ Tessy

A little bit of colour on the walls... and so much magic.....

I've found a new blog.... via these makeover series... 'Middle East Masala'...

and here is what Tessy has to say about her makeover...

In May this year while doing the annual white wash/ painting of the house we decided to add a summery colour

to one of the walls. After a visit to the local paint shop and post much deliberation peach melba was chosen. We wanted to choose a light shade that would be enhance the wall decor and at the same time make the house look bright.  Peach fitted in well. In just a few hours we managed a mini make over of our house. I added some sequin cushions and a sequinned string curtain to complement the new wall and its accessories.

and MAGIC .....

So what do you think???

Visit Tessy at Middle East Masala... and don't forget to leave a comment about her stunning choice of colour...

Makeover Stories ~ Viju

Taking you today... to Viju's home... to show you her garden beauties.. and other random knick knack makeovers ... and how she creates magic for the festivities... What do you think??

Oh.. and the festivities begin...

I love every little detail of the arrangement....

And now to tell you about 'Greens'

Consider bringing some green in. Plants are said to be most therapeutic to have around the house and also give a fresh, homely touch to any room. While it is a given that they require a certain amount of care and attention, they are bound to be mood brighteners, especially if they are the flowering kind. Ensure that your room is sufficiently well lit by sunlight if you consider this option.

And here is how Viu has crated magic in her home... *smiles*

Sorry... I couldn't resist... Simply had to show you all her garden beauties... Aren't they so magnificent...

And I totally LOVE... LOVE this....

Do leave a comment..... and motivate her to share some more... *smiles*
