Wall art - Warli
Sangitha from Sajavat is a super talented woman!!! I love what she’s done on her balcony wall. It sure takes a lot of thought to put something unique like this together. I’ve posted on Warli before… and to see her warli tree on the wall was simply amazing.
Here is what she has to say -
"Mine is a small so called garden patch which I have tried to create on my balcony. I spend my mornings there, reading the newspaper, sipping my coffee and simply gazing. I talk to my plants when I am free, encouraging them to grow. One fine day I suddenly had an idea of painting something on the sidewalls of my balcony. These walls are also visible when we sit on our sofa in the living room. So it had to be at least presentable and what better a theme than nature. So I thought of painting this tree. I only had a vague idea of how to do it up!

Designing Cards
As a kid, I loved making cards. I would make cards for any occasion or for no occasion at all… (there are always occasions in my heart though!!!) My friends and family always expected to see a personalised card from me on birthdays, Easter, Diwali, Eid, Christmas, New Year or even invitation cards. Infact my mom was truly fed up of seeing 'another card'. She remains my ever encouraging constant critic.
I’ve learnt a bit (a very small bit) of photoshop and have been designing a few cards for friends.
Here is one I’d like to share. I made these for my friends house warming party!!!
This pic is from my Maldives album.
This one is from my Diwali 09 album.
My friend went ahead with the last one.... Which one do you like?

Simplistic & Minimalistic
I just love décor that is simplistic & minimalistic…. yet has so much attitude and character in it. I’m sure you will agree with me… once you look at the pics below –
I’ve written about Sweta and her Simple & Stunning style.
Vistaar Associates are an architecture & interior design firm, with a vision of improving the quality of life through influencing our everyday surroundings.
Here she has given a facelift to an existing living space. The building & the house is about 15 years old, so the challenge was primarily in giving it an absolutely new look, yet keeping in mind that the appeal had to be timeless.
This installation is a long corridor leading to the bedrooms. The partition gives the bedroom privacy and at the same time provides the room with much required character. This is done in MDF and is back lit. The partition obviously can be opened up from behind for repair and changing the lights.

Creative Furniture
Had to share this email I received today...
What would you prefer? A stair case or a shoe rack. This is definitely creative!
Infact... I know a few people who would love to have this... A sofa cum book shelf. Sure saves a lot of space!!

My kind of cart
This is my favourite picture from the collections of John Dummer. I don't know who this space belongs to...... but I've saved this pic.... hoping that some day I'll have a work space of my own that looks this way!!!
I like the use of 'vendor carts' as part of home decor. I've always fancied having a cart as a dining table or foyer table.
A cart full of flowers in my garden.... *sigh*.... Its time to dream on...
