Manjula's den

What are you waiting for?? Come on in!!

Welcome to Manjula's living room

Oh wait.. Just before that is another tiny wall.. Do you know what this is??

A broken Shoe rack!! and Manjula has portrayed various human expressions on it.

Mostly made of terracotta..

The pic in the center is her younger sons old shoe, and his milk bottle cover.

The one on the left is terracotta pots with wooden ladles hanging with warli motifs on it.

So once again.. Welcome in..

This kerala mural painting is called Ananthasayanam which basically depicts lord Vishnu resting on a serpent anantha with his head resting on Laxmi devi, the goddess of wealth and serveral other gods around them.

In the dining area is another kerala mural of Lord Ganesha, the remover of all obstacles.

Don't forget to leave her a message, and inspire her.. and ofcoure check her blog too!!

The Yellow Wall at Manjulas

The Craft Safari introduced me to Manjula and her stunning home.

Manjula is a homemaker and a mother of two, passionate about recycling old unwanted things and making something beautiful and useful out of it. She enjoys DIYs and crafts and her home is a reflection of her personality for sure.

Check her facebook page : My Art at Home Studio
and she has recently started blogging at My Art @ home Studio

So, grab a cup of chai and welcome....

The below nameplate is terracotta work done by Manjula herself.

The yellow wall is what attracted me to her home in the first place.

The warli has been done by Manjula as well.

Now you must agree... this is stunning!! The warli work has mirrors stuck on it which gives it the much needed glamour!!

The wooden frame and shelves on this wall are made of broken dining room chairs which is now decorated with warli motifs. The red painting is her creative outburst with dokra work in the center surrounded by madhubani.

On the left hand of the main entrance door, Manjula as painted a small wall which forms part of her open kitchen.

This wall has an artform called Bheenth Chitra, topped up with mirrors. This is a tribal art form done by the tribes from Gurjat and Rajesthan.

Lasly above is her lippan work. This is an art form from Kutch, which is generally used to decorate exterior walls of the local homes.

Don't you want more?? I do!!

RAK Hilton Resort & Spa

Have you seen the Baggout list of Top 12 Socially Active Interior design Blogs? Yay!! I'm no 3 on the list.

What this really means... is that... someone has motivated me to get back to blogging and stop being lazy!!

I do enjoy blogging, but I simply can't seem to find the time to click photographs, edit them, post them, and the list goes on... More importantly, I can't find some to visit co-bloggers and check on blogs I love..

Anyway.. I'll stop complaining for now, and blog as often as I can!! Simply.. coz I'm not motivated to do so again!!

I know I've written about Ras Al Khaima Hilton Resort & Spa before... It is truly one of our favourite get aways from Dubai. This time around, we stayed at a sea view room, with easy access to the pool & beach.

The image above had carpets hanging on the wall.. impressive isn't it?

We spent the night outdoors counting starts and listening to the waves.. The girls are truly growing up faster than I like or rather faster than I can understand.. So I'm desperately trying to hold on to time, and make the most of every moment...

Moving on.. I do love the interiors of the rooms & the hotel in general.. one of my favourite are the tiles in the bathroom.. Don't you simply love pretty tiles!!

Thats all from me now.. I promise to be a regular at my blog.. *smiles*

I know I talk about hotels very often... Don't get bored!!

I like pretty things.. and pretty hotels are my favourite...

Specially when you have some R&R on your own... without the hubby... and kids... and other things..

Now what do you think about this place? Isn't it gorgeous..

This is the Kandawgyi Palace Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar. A place by the lake where you could easily spend a few hours watching the people... the fish... the birds... and also hear the birds chirping!!
