Securly

Today…. is not a store review… But a topic that’s close to my heart…

Is your home ‘internet’ safe for kids? Is it? Although Dubai is safer than any other part of the world… it’s still not completely safe…

Saying that … I’ve now found Securly… and my house is safe!!

Securly allows parents to make their entire home WiFi network kid-safe in one easy step - blocking adult sites, X-rated videos on YouTube, protecting their privacy on Facebook and blocking inappropriate keyword-searches and pages on Google, Wikipedia etc. Securly was founded by two network security veterans with a combined 17+ years of security experience.
The founders quit their Sr. Manager and Architect roles at some of the most respected security companies in the world – McAfee, Huawei-Symantec – to form Securly with a mission to make home networks safer for kids.

Do check them out... and like their Facebook page for more ideas... I've never seen anyone answer a question as quickly as these guys... They are super friendly... and awesome to interact with... And if I'm saying this... who is not tech savvy at all... you simply have to beleive me..

Sign up for free... and protect your kids today...

The Weekly Story- wk 84

Hello my loves…. Is it ok for me to say… I forgot about the weekly story today?? Well actually… I forgot it was Monday… *sobs*… I really did!!!

Just that I’ve been super busy at work… and have been juggling so much lately… its unbelievable… Sometimes I think, I’ve taken on so much on my plate… so much more than I can eat…. Or even hold… Do you feel that way sometimes…

*sigh*… it’ll calm down.. I sure hope!!

We went to this gorgeous place on Thursday… TWG at Dubai Mall… here are few images… It was me & older daughter… quality time… We ate lavishly… chatted away to glory… and had big girl type giggles and conversations… Oh.. how I’ll miss all this.. when she’s grown up… :-(

They’ve got tea… and tea… and tea cups… and pots… and teas.. and teas.. in all flavours… Flavours you’ve never even thought about.. I had.. the ‘crème brulee’ tea… *smiles* You’ve got to check their site to see the selection of teas… its simply wow!! TWG Tea Company!!

Here is a pic of the girlies over the weekend… They had a friend over… so were allowed to totally mess up the room. Once the friend left… they sorted, mopped, cleared their rooms.. And then they made dinner for themselves…. ‘macaroni cheese’… and ‘butter cookies’… Was totally thrilled to see my younger kiddo… wash the dishes and then even sort them… keep them neat & tidy and then wipe them dry.. It was a proud mommy moment *smiles*

Must see - Singapore

If in Singapore with kids, these are three places you must visit.

Night Safari

Singapore Zoo

Jurong Bird Park

The Night Safari & Singapore Zoo are right next to each other, so plan to spend a whole day at the zoo, have dinner and then walk across to the night safari.

Also, buy Park Hopper tickets if you are visiting all three places... it saves a little bit of money that you can use on souvenirs.

The Night Safari is awesome... There is one performance and one Show... after which you can take the tram around and see the animals...

You should take a walk on the wild side and observe the animals... All the walking trails are simply amazing...

I wrote about the Night Safari... only coz we went there first. The next day morning, we went to the Jurong Bird Park. Before you go... have a look at the show timings, so you catch whatever you want to see....

All the shows are spectacular....

Close encounters with the animals.... teach the children a lot...

There are loads and loads of photo opportunities....

Walk around the bird park... and spend some time in nature... Its simply simply gorgeous... Once you are tired.. then take the tram around the park....

From here we went to the Singapore Zoo. The kids absolutely loved it... Again, there are lots of shows.... check the timings and dont miss any.

Its lovely to see these animals in action.

I'm not a huge zoo fan, but kids simply love it...

Again, walk around the whole zoo.... do all the nature trails... They are simply amazing... to see the animals and the greens....

There is a mini kids water park in the Zoo... so please take the kiddies swim suits along... They will simply have a ball...

And dont forget the boat ride... This is Singapore's most scenic reservoirs to observe the animals native to the green rainforest... After the boat ride... take the tram ride as well..

Like I said... the kids had the best time ever..... At all three places, there is ample shopping and kiosks and restaurants.... Have fun...

Garden love...

Summer is here and plants everywhere are thriving...I love to be in the garden, planting, weeding,...generally soaking in the greens...

Patio corner
Marigolds blooming...

The China doll plant...
Roses in full bloom...

the varigated colours in leaves add so much life to the patio...

another corner...

Last weekend, my friends' dad and myself visited a nearby nursery...Shankar Uncle had a great time taking his "Macros" pictures of the flowers. Now while he was taking his specialized photographs, I wandered around, and purchased some plants and a "tulsi" pot.....Will be sharing a post on Uncle shortly,...in the meantime sharing some random shots taken from my iphone...

Hope you enjoyed the flowery post...

Sky Park @ Singapore

If in Singapore (even for just a day), you must visit the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and go to the Sky Park Experience.

This is the view from up there… its simply stunning…

We went pretty late… Try going a little earlier, just before sunset. Its SD 20.00 for the experience and you can choose to spend the whole day there..

If you go just before sunset, you can see Singapore by day and by night… Its gorgeous..

I’d come back and stay at this hotel… only to swim in this infinity pool.

Im sorry I'm not good at night photography... but I hope you can see the pool...

It was truly an amazing experience...

Store Review ~ Fabulloso

As promised … another Thursday… another store…

Today… I’m showing you… ‘fabulloso’…

fabulloso! is an online store with a difference!! It offers a curated selection of beautiful things… from something for your wardrobes to a little for your homes - exquisitely designed and meticulously crafted designer wear, wardrobe essentials, shoes, accessories, home furnishings, accents and much.. much.. more!

fabulloso! is the brainchild of Gaurav Taneja, ex-Partner and Business Head - Technology, Communications and Entertainment with Ernst & Young, and Anupma Taneja, a graphic designer and entrepreneur with a successful handmade paper business - Kaagaz Exports - to her credit.

Now... they sure know... what catches my eyes...

Here are a few things... that I sure can buy from them....

And the best part… for people like me…. They even accept international credit cards so people from outside India can now shop from ‘fabulloso’ for their family and friends living in India. Isn’t that lovely, so you can plan ahead, and surprise someone with a birthday or anniversary gift… That’s what I will be doing soon..

I sure hope you enjoyed this store... Go check out fabulloso... and let me know what you think!!

If you know of any store, that I've missed.... do email me at coloursdekor@gmail.com and I'd love to see what they have in store for me... *smiles*
