Colours

I'm normally a neutral colour person... I simply love beige, brown & creme... with a dash of orange or red to bring the cheer... But today my heart is here.... in these summery colours... What colour are you?

My corner...

I’m in love…. I so am!! With this….. corner of my home.. (Don’t laugh!). This Buddha is my new found love… When I saw him I instantly fell in love with him and knew that he would fit in somewhere… (more in my heart that home!)… So now he is placed in the garden. And after much discussions between, Ramie, Rose & myself…. We thought this looked awesome!! Do you agree??

Do you think the wall looks bare?? The log behind it… needs some drilling work!! The intention is to convert that into a candle holder. DIY project after the rest of the house is done up! I spend most evening sitting in front of this…. With the candle lit… I feel soooooo in love!!

Cinnamon Lodge, Habarana

I’m so looking forward to my two day break away from home… & most of all away from furniture planning!! I love being on my own in hotel rooms… (for not more than two nights)!! Revive myself by reading few books that I’ve been looking at forever…. Indulge in warm waters, scented oils… with fragrant candles & flowers!! That’s what I’m going to be doing!! Here is me dreaming of my hotel in Sri Lanka. Don’t know if you’ve read my post on Habarana?? !! We stayed at the Cinnamon Lodge. I had a few really pretty pictures, but I cant seem to find them… so for now.. you’ll just have to live with these… I love when there is a pillar in the room…

Dark brown furniture … with an aesthetic touch makes me feel at home. Can you see the ceiling wooden strips??

I was super impressed by the door to the bathroom…. It was glass.. and looked like this...

The candles & scents inside paved way for the mood to be set in right..

Sketches on the wall... well framed... and lit..

And when the lights were on inside, the reflection on the wall looked stunning. The photo does not do justice to the way it really looked.

Cinnamon Lodge is an amazing place… calm, serene and very green. Its time to get lost in nature! I'll post more pictures of the exterior & pool area of this hotel... It is indeed stunning!!! Bye for now... and hope you guys are gearing up for the weekend!!

Weekend seats!

My weekends are always super busy… ‘Two day weekends’ are just not enough for me.. Really!! It was overwhelming.. to watch my friends son graduate!! The little boy who attended our wedding… we went on few holidays with… we’ve watched IMAX with… the little kid who was on stage at his school play…. and who I often dropped & picked from tuition class.... Was today part of the graduation ceremony of ‘class of 2010’… Gosh!!! For a minute I thought I would cry… All was well… when we returned home with friends … who didn’t care if there were no sofas to sit on!! This is how my weekend seating looked….

And when the drinks came in… pink …. blue & green…. Nothing mattered any more!!

Thank you… to all you lovely people in my life… who make my weekends worthwhile!!
