Merry Christmas everyone!!

Here a quick look at our Harry Potter themed tree. We've got a few owl ornaments, acceptance letters from Hogwarts, keys, snitches and even an owl topper.

My older daughter is mad about Potter, so this was specially for her!!

Christmas is truly not about presents... its about presence *smiles*..

This year the girls & I decided to make a few handmade gifts... 

The girls made felt keychains.. with tutorials from Crafting with Felt 

And here is what everyone at work got from me... 'Brownies in a Jar'

Christmas Inspiration

I haven't put up the tree as yet. Just about too much happening in my life... visitors, house guests, parties, weddings, engagements, travel... WOW!! A lot has decided to happen in December *smiles*..

So the other day, I walked into Home Center for some inspiration... and here is what I saw... 

Loads of pink decor... 

A pink and gold tree... 

I love these new, JOY & HO hanging on the trees...

Loving the season

Oh.. how I love this season!! Simply love the fact that everywhere we go, there is just sparkles, twinkles and such stunning decorations... *smiles*

And not to mention, how much I love Pottery Barn...

Now walk into the Dubai store with me ... Come on in!!! 

Most of their trees were gold & silver themed... 

I love.... love how the below table looks... Sure wish to recreate this some day...

1st signs of Christmas

You know its Christmas in Dubai, when the weather starts getting cooler.... you begin to see warm clothes in the shops... and truck loads of BBQ stuff... Yes indeed, this is our BBQ season...

Saying that... most malls, shops, cafes and restaurants are decorating and ready with their Christmas hampers and gifts... 

Last week I was at Lime Tree, and truly it feels like Christmas there! 

Look at the vast selection of cookies.... and little silver gifts... 

I'm totally inspired by the flying santa idea... Simply cute!

They certainly do the best cookies in town... 

Here is their gorgeous tree at the entrance... 

Oh.. and they have gift hampers too!! You can create your own or just buy one off the rack!! The goodies inside look impressive!!

Now this was my favourite arrangement at the entrance... Look how a few simple things can change the mood of the entire place!

By now you know I love these little twines or ropes... Isn't this napkin holder stunning?? 

Christmas so blue

a blue Christmas

I'm having a blue Christmas this year... yes.. in the literal sense... its going to be blue... 

My dad left us early this year... followed by my gran in the middle of the year... *sigh*... Like I say... the two most important people in my life.. decide to leave me in the same year... 

Anyway... I'll be listening to this.. Im sure you'll love it too...

Its just so very tough... I made a list of people I buy gifts for.. and automatically wrote.. 'mom, dad'.... and two days later.. when I was shopping.. and checked my list.. I saw 'dad'... You dont need me to tell you what followed...

Its truly been a difficult year... with lots of silent tears... and secret sobbing... and discouraging any conversations with my mom...

But... Im grateful to all my family and friends... for their immaculate support and unlimited love.. I truly am blessed!!

So we dug out all our old Christmas decor... I had initially decided we'll go red and gold... but I guess everyones blue... even the kids... 

Sims decide it would be blue & silver.. so here we are.. with our Blue tree.. *smiles*

with a little bit of turquoise... 

No effort put into decorating the tree at all.. or the home... 

No DIYs, no additional decor... just all the old stuff...
