The Weekly Story ~ wk 23

I honestly thought July was going to be a quieter month... being the holiday season and with Ramadan around the corner... *sigh*.. I was soooooooo wrong!! I've been bussier than ever.. at work there always seems to be so much to do.. at home.. keeping my girlies entertained is a full time job.. LOL.. Yes.. it really is!! Thankfully.. my mom does it part time.. Bless.. Thank God for mommy...

Anyway.. on another note.. Did I tell you I went of on this mental excursion to a warehouse in Ajman.. Well.. I found a mental friend to take me there...

It was a total junk warehouse.. and I found some treasure.. *smiles*.. This is what I picked up...

and this is what I've made of it... I like the idea of storing spare cushions & mats at a place where you can pick them up.. and use them.. What do you think??

Do you think it would look better as a side table? Well... I'll leave this for a while.. and that'll be project next..

I spent all of Thursday and Friday ... cleaning and de-cluttering.. on Friday.. I started the day at 05.30am... and finished by 8pm.. from the kitchen to the kids rooms.. to cabinets and floors.. I was so exhausted at the end.. and had such a bad back ache... that I simply crashed..

No... don't laugh!! :)

And here are two pics.. of making the house all pretty *smiles*..

The pic of top is from a village called 'Baitul'.. and a special friend got it for me.. However, I think this prety lady is rather lost in the midst of the sofas...

So I know.. I've been promising to visit you for a while... But I don't have any time this week.. but promise to pop by this month.. for sure!! :)

Blogger finds ~ Tickled by Inspiration

Im impressed with the talent out there.. and when I find a blog full of potential and being updated with such passion .. I simply have to share it with you all...

and one such blog is Tickled by Inspiration

"Hello Everyone! I am Rachel Eapen and its an honor to be here on Colours Dekor.  I am currently based in Muscat, an HR management professional by profession and at present a home maker. I have always been passionate about arts and its different forms. Besides being a trained Salsa and Bharatnatyam dancer and exploring other forms of dance and cooking, I have a strange passion for photography - still an amateur though, but I believe it’s the best way to document beauty around me. Tickled by Inspirations is my little visual blog and diary of ideas, thoughts and creativity. It’s a blog on interiors, home décor, designs, art, food, craft and everything that is inspiring us to be creative. It’s also a platform where different artists, crafters, designers and entrepreneurs can showcase their work.

Now.. if you like the little glimpse... hop over to her blog... Tickled with Inspiration

a dreamy home

In the next few posts... Im taking you to Pooja's home... 'a dreamy little home'

I’m Pooja, a graduate in commerce, fashion merchandising and passed out of a finishing school. Basically I’m a dreamer and live in a dreamland largely inspired by Bollywood. Coming to my dream house I always imagined a place, which would be all smiles love and happiness. So when immediately after my marriage when I discovered there is a place in lonavala (small hill station near Mumbai) just bought and kept for sakes by my family I expressed my desire to convert it into something liveable as I didn’t have anything meatier to do my family agreed to give the responsibility to me without a question of what am I going to do.

And from that day onwards till next 6 month I would eat sleep think only interiors. Subscribed to all the interiors magazine, read lot of stuff on net, visited all the exhibitions in town. Made a vision book kind a thing and started to work on that house which is now a small beautiful wonderland.

It’s a 3000 sq ft structure having 4 rooms, living area, kitchen and a small garden area.
My main inspiration behind the conversion was to make it warm cozy and filmy.

Im sure the sneak peek into this home.. has left you wanting to see more.. Just like me!! *smiles*

The Weekly Story ~ wk 22

And its time for another weekly story.. I know I haven't visited you for long.. But will be doing so for sure!!

As though my life was less busy, I've started pottery classes as well.. These are my three pots.. *sigh*.. It takes hard-work, dedication and practice... and Im getting there.. one week at a time.. LOL... I soooooooooo enjoy these classes .. I really do!!

On Thursday, I had six kids at home... Such hardwork to keep them entertained.. We went off to the beach, then had breakfast, off to a park for sometime... after which the kids played in the pool for a while.. then they enjoyed themselves on the chalk board area.. Such fun to watch!! We made pizzas for lunch.. and it was time to play in the pool and garden again.. They just do not get exhausted..

Saturday... a friend took me to this warehouse in Ajman.. I believe it belongs to the 'Take my junk' people.. It was absolutely junk.... 4 warehouses of junk.... I felt like a little kid in wonderland... There were so many treasures... but literally you had to hunt them from piles of nothing... I got a few things home.. which I'll share with you over the week or so...

One of them is this book ... published in 1976 and purchased in 1977... *sigh*... I was ever so thrilled...

And I got this... it looked like junk.. I've done one round of cleaning... but it still needs more I think... Im not sure what I'm going to do with this... but I loved it so much that I had to get it home.. And for AED 30... I couldn't think twice.. *smiles*
