Modern Courtyard

Just before I board my flight, I leave you with an image from my archive. I love courtyards and love to see how people decorate them. Most times, this area is either used to relax or entertain friends. Be it modern or ethnic décor, simple or extremely well done, the idea behind having an impressive courtyard just amazes me!! What do you think about this mordern courtyard? ~ the lighting? the seating!! (I don’t remember the source of this picture ~ so if it belongs to you, let me know and I’ll be more than happy to give you the credit).

    You know the most outstanding (excuse the pun) feature of Arab architecture are their 'to-die-for' courtyards. Living in an apartment myself, I used to envy them their ritualistic evenings-out and the lovely way they used to arrange their benches with platters of food, drink and the ubiquitous hookah.

    I love the one you have featured, and the lighting makes it all the more inviting.

    Aah, I would die for a trip to the Gulf right now!
