Walls with Character ~ Rohini

…. I’m not going to say much at all… I’ll let the pictures do all the talking… .Here is a home… where not only the walls… but the cushions, the frames, the candles, EVERYTHING… simply start talking to you!! Over to Rohini for more ~~

I am a software professional turned visual artist of Indian origin based in U.S. I am a self -taught artist and work with various media like painting, photography, sketching, mixed media and sculpture.
I live in a tiny rented apartment in Ames, IA. Given the fact that I cannot use nails on my walls, I managed to hang most of my paintings using push pins.
All the wall decor and paintings in my living room are hand-made by me. Most of them are created using recycled materials. I love the idea of transforming everyday trash and mundane into works of art.
The tree is created using yarn/wool and leaves are made using toilet paper rolls and tissue paper. In the tree pic, you can also find painted toilet paper rolls stuck in a shoe box and Origami shirts made out of scrap paper left overs.
Ice cream sticks/ popsicle sticks are painted and used to make a photo frame
the peacock paisley artwork is created on a poster board using toilet paper rolls, pistacho shells, acrylics and beads.
Here, beer and plastic bottles are recycled using wool.
In this pic you can find recycled bamboo lid beside the cushions.
I also added some mirror embellishments on one of the cushions.
The peacock painting is again created using recycled paper. Paper quilling technique is used for the body.
Aren't you waiting to find out more about Rohini Kummitha and her stunning work!! Go on and check her link... dont forget to leave her a note about her amazing walls...
