Rooms at Marjan

Its not very often that I do a few posts about the same hotel. The last time, I didnt stop talking about the hotel, were the posts about Bab Al Shams.. Do you remember??

For now... we are back at the Marjan Resort... this is the pathway leading to our room.. We had a suite booked, as when we leave the kids behind we tend to spoil ourselves a little bit... The suites came with a lovely living area, dining area, balcony overlooking the sea... and a separate bedroom...

I was ever so intrigued that it hand a gold wall paper... However, even with the gold, the wooden trimmings toned it down... and the room looked totally stunning...

Leaving you with a few pics of this place...

Tell me what you think??

Lamps at Marjan

Today … we’ll talk about the lights around Marjan.. You know this is my favourite topic (apart from wall paint)…

If you do happen to go to Marjan, you should send me a picture of the above lamp.. Symmetric or not… gorgeous for sure..

Here’s another stunning lamp.. that got my attention…

And the lamp posts along the beach were lovely too…

They stood on these tiles… that I definitely liked.. What do you think??

Do you have stunning lamps in your home.. Do send me some images..

Getaway Ras Al Khaima

Not so far away from Dubai, is a man made island in Ras Al Khaima... that hosts the Marjan Island Resort. This is supposed to be a five star hotel, but to me it looked live a lovely, small place, as compared to other reports in Dubai / RAK I mean...

Saying that... there is truly a lot to fall in love with at this pace... There really is... The beautiful arches, the gorgeous architecture, the attention to detail... will have you floored... This is the entrance...

Look at how beautiful the walkway next to the parking is....

Below is an image of the steps that lead to the hotel from the beach area... Now.. look at those tiles, can you see how much they've paid attention to every little detail...

Doesn't take much for me to lose my heart... *smiles*

Here is the lovely walkway.. It holds a little path to the sea... and also has a waterfront sheesha place.. The evenings are totally stunning here...

Now.. below is one of their restaurants still under construction... Can you see the lovely Morocco doorway sticker...

Do you know what I like this place?? I bet you already do...

Spa love

I’m always intrigued by spa décor and how everything simply looks so perfect and smells so good.. instantly makes you feel awesome *smiles*

One of my favourite spas in Dubai is the Angsana spa at the Montgomerie golf club… It is totally out of this world, doesn’t feel like youre in Dubai at all. Amidst lush green fairways, nearly 200 acres of landscaped settings, is this spectacular golf course. And obviously the spa has a picturesque view of the oasis and swaying trees, making this haven.

However, today Im showing you images of the Angsana spa at the Emirates Hills. Located in the Town Center Mall, in fitness first … entering the doors of the spa totally transports you to another kingdom… A land of tranquillity and calmness.

I instantly loved the low simple seating… nothing exotic at all…. Isn’t it lovely…

Now.. I love feeling like royalty... Well .. who doesn't??

And these bells have my heart… one look and I know exactly what I’d like to replicate in my home. Has this ever happened to you?

Weekend sentiments

This weekend was a true roller coaster weekend... from enjoying a long weekend with serenity... to realising how the line between life and death is so thin... and we take so many things in life for granted...

*sigh*... Yes.. indeed!! So much out there.. and so much I still don't appreciate... Which just means... that you'll probably here more about love.. life.. and beauty...

The truth is you don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. Life is a crazy ride, and nothing is guaranteed. - Eminem

For now.. we are still enjoying the good weather in Dubai... especially early morning beach walks.. and evening sunsets.. and sand castles... Thats my girls up there... growing faster than I expected..

Here is the lovely scenic beach... you find surfers in the morning catching the waves... as early as 4pm.. Some mornings I'm shocked to see their enthusiasm... Their drive is totally amazing..

What also happened this weekend... in between all the other madness... we installed a new fence.. in the garden.. Just a basic one we got from ACE...

Here are the girls at work.. painting the fence white.. And like normal... my cousins joined them too.. Turned out to be a fun afternoon... afterall... *smiles*

So Im here.. and I have lots more to tell you... For now appreciating my time on earth... *hugs*

Koyri~handmade delights

Koyri ~

The paisley motif is called Koyri in Marathi and because Gunjan loves the motif and its Indian-ness.... She named her store Koyri.

Making something by hand… shows you are truly passionate about it…

A little about Gunjan ~

I am working in the software industry for 10 years. Mother to a toddler, and settled in Pune (originally a Bombay girl) my try at handmade jewelry can be called a serendipity. I am a self-taught artist and have no professional background in this but I love design and colours and I am a big DIY fan. I started off making accessories for myself which were appreciated by friends and colleagues and that's how rest of the story goes. It has been more than three years that I started a facebook page and went public but I feel I am still learning new things by practice everyday. Just a week back, I made (and sold) earcuffs from wire. Something I had never done before. :)

I cannot say I make only jewelry cos I play around with my beads a lot and I have made garden accessories, fridge magnets, bookmarks ... the list is long... I also make block printed bags...

Go on and tell her what you think... Like her on Facebook... and visit her at Koyri
Also, check out her store!!
