Lets go to Phuket

Finally, I've now been to Thailand as well... A long awaited holiday... to a destination that I've been planning for... ..... for years... Before I start talking about Phuket, I have to tell you... that if you are travelling to Phuket make sure you are sitting on the right of the aircraft and have a window seat... As you land... Phuket below looks simply stunning... Below is one of the million pics I clicked ... *sigh* In Phuket, you are truly spoilt for choice. The place has abundant, gorgeous beaches, parks, rain forests, water sports, other sporting activities, rich culture, heritage & history to discover and fantastic dining areas and supposedly even more fantastic nightlife.. *smiles* .. One of the most common tours is to Phi Phi Islands.. I beleive a few movies have been filmed here... and thats largely where its popularity comes from. The islands are huge rock formations, when approached by boat, look like stunning fortresses in the sea... The beaches are untouched... blue... and stunning.. which then give away to forests. Its surely love at first sight!!
The good part about Phuket overall, is that it is cheap, the people are generally laid-back. The islands dont even have roads... so no schedule to follow, on hustle-bustle... no reason to hurry!!
So thats exactly what we did in Phuket - NOTHING!! We went to the sea for a swim, did some snorkelling, jet skiing, dune buggy riding .... lazing at the pool with some gorgeous drinks. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott, which is a 4 star hotel, centrally located and has a kids play area... So I had nothing to worry about *smiles*
One of the nights, we went to the FantaSea show!! It was lovely, the kids definitely enjoyed it. The buffet was nice, and the show totally stunning, with a light & sound show, performances by over a 100 people and a few elephants.. The sets of the stage.. totally stunning!!
I'll go to Phuket again some day... for its awesome spas and beaches... Its definitely a relaxing holiday... Have you been to Phuket?? Share your views!!

  8. I went to Thailand in 2009 and absolutely loved the country. Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya are the cities I have been to and they are so different from each other. Phuket was the most beautiful, undoubtedly. I did not even feel like blinking my eyes while I was on the cruise to Phi-phi island. Coincidentally, even we stayed at Marriott :)
