Sarees and Blouses...

Every time I see a Bollywood movie or a show, visit India, browse on the Internet, I get fascinated and enthralled, by the Saree's and blouses available in the market. Six meters of cloth, so beautifully weaved designed and available in all styles and hues, be it contemporary or the classic traditional. Every region and state of India, boasts of a special weave and style. Be it Silk, Cotton or Chiffon, they are simply gorgeous, and I consider, most suited for an Indian women and she looks her best in them. In the last couple of years, the blouses have begun to weave their magic! and all the patterns are so cyclical! The short sleeve blouses that our moms would wear about 20 to 30 yrs ago, are back...the below the elbow ones are back with a vengeance, thanks to Vidya Balan! My personal favourite are those Choli types... with the low back ones...yes we saw it in Parineeta. I firmly believe, every Saree is enhanced by a that complimentary 1 meter of cloth so deftly cut and stitched.
Last week, I attended the 50th wedding anniversary of a dear friend and I wore this exquisite blouse to match the gorgeous golden colour Kanjeevaram Saree that a dear friend gave me. I had picked up the blouse at the Mysore Saree Udyog at Commercial Street, Bangalore. Sharing some pictures of the same...

Dont you love them? The blouses were also very reasonably priced...a special thanks to my cousin Ashwini for introducing me to this store. I got her one as a thank you...else she would have flicked one of mine...:-)
Ciao, until next week...
