I have to redo this post... Rama's gorgeous terracota board with the name of the house.... that reads 'Buena Vista' meaning beautiful view in Spanish... Her home is designed using Spanish architecture... more on that later... but for now..... her Green Thumb Decor !!

Oh how lovely.. Can blue be this gorgeous?? Here is Rama's entry into the Green Thumb Decor series... *smiles* Her love for her greens, her blue flowers, her pink flowers and her garden.... brings a huge smile on my face!! You'll see why... for yourself!! She blogs at Time, Time ... I have all the Time...
"In my garden there is a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful." - Abram L. Urban
Love is the only flower that grows and blossoms without the aid of seasons, said Kahlil Gibran.
I say that these beautiful blue flowers too grow without the aid of seasons, they are there all year round: a feast to our eyes!
Blue flowers hold a special significance in the language of flowers and apparently – given their long-standing popularity – a special place in our hearts as well.
Blue flowers represent tranquility and harmony, and give a sense of stability, confidence, honesty and security. Blue flowers, traditionally rare in nature, represent confidence and security.
Go on and join the Green Thumb Decor link party... and inspire us all!!

  12. Thank you everybody; Geeta, Anpu,Emreen, Kamini and Sameera.
Sameera thses flowers are called Tamburjaya, but I don't know their botanical name in English, but I can find out from our landscape architect the exact name. Actually it comes in white too and these are the only two it comes I think. But blue is more striking than white.
There is one more variety of this flower with same name but it looks a little different, we call it High Heels, for it looks like that , and it comes in yellow with maroon stripes, it also looks very good and is a creeper, we have it growing over our pergola. The beauty of the plant is that only the flowers will hang down from the pergola and leafy part will cover and give shade.

  16. Thanks Padmaja, Sanghamitra and idiapiedaterre, for your lovely comments. Yes padmaja that name plate was custom made. Sanghamitra the plants we have in our house are very ordinary, they happened to look very pretty on a particular day, and i just couldn't resist capturing them in their beauty.
Even I love the old gnarly trunk.
