My bench...

Thank you Kamini for the 'Ode to Fellow Bloggers'... I'm now inspired to show off about my house today... … What do you think of my new find?? After hunting nearly 200+ furniture shops…. some non air-conditioned warehouses in the middle of the desert (really!!).. We found exactly what I was looking for and for less than what we had in our pockets …

Every piece of furniture or curio … rather… every corner of my house has a story waiting to be told.. This particular time, Ramie & I conspired against Rose… (hope she doesn’t read this)… when we went to this particular shop… Only coz.. Rose is like the ‘finance consultant’ of our household.. She doesn’t understand how sometimes, Patty simply has this urge to listen to her heart and completely forgets about the wallet or credit card… *smiles*

Well… when she saw the bench, she absolutely loved it… Plus it was ridiculously cheap..

The cushions needs to change… I need happier colours for the summer.. I’m getting there… I am… be patient!!! I’m showing off at Show & Tell , Mosaic Monday, FFF & New Friend Friday & FFFriday & Crazy Domestic & Funky Junk Interiors

I do think.. that there is now too much of wood at home… and I should break this monotony buy using a off white-ish silk cushion base for the bench… What do you think??

Mindful wall

I’m sure you know by now… that creative walls are an important part of my home and generally, I believe are an important part of any home!!

I admire creative blogs… and Mindful Meandering is a total craft-a-holic… These stickers on the wall are simply fabulous..

They are repositionable and makes any room delightful..

Weekend news..

I had a great weekend… wandered into Home Center on Friday to find this…

Gosh.. I have such a soft corner for lanterns.. I can’t tell you!! Even worst.. this was on sale for AED 2.50 (which is less than USD 1)… So what would you do if you were in my place??!!

Exactly!!! There were 10 on the rack.. and I picked them all… *smiles* And I asked the shop keeper for more… but they didn’t have any.. There was one green one.. So I just had to pick that up as well.. Why put someone else through the grief of finding this one piece and searching for more.. like I did??!! The girls and I … had to test them.. as soon as we got them home… So we put candles in them.. and hung them off the branches of the trees in our garden..

As the sunset they looks stunning…

Now.. on Saturday, I happened to be in another Home Center.. and saw the same things in Red, Green & Aqua… The red was gorgeous and they had only 4 pieces… So I simply had to buy them.. *smiles*

I'm enjoying the MM & MM & Outdoor Wednesday posts... This morning, I had a thought… I’d probably need more for Diwali & Christmas.. I should go back and buy a few of the Aqua ones as well… What do you think??
