Another corner

Last week, I was telling you about my carpet. So here it is... one weekend, Harshi & I went on a treasure hunt to the Blue Souq in Sharjah. 

Just the wrong place for two absolutely mental people to go... That said.. we were good.. and didn't walk out with much. Lets not ponder about what all we walked out with... except.. for this lovely carpet.. 

There's something about the carpet that I love... It makes the room bigger, brighter, happier. 

Don't miss my daughters painting on the bench... LOL

For a change, I've decided nothing needs to match... the turquoise cushions can sit side by side, with pink & red.... and a rather red or maroon carpet...*smiles*

The mis match is making me happy... somehow!! 

Weekend Corner

I always feel this corner is crowded. Do you??

Saying that I like the blue pot on its chinese looking stand. 

These diyas .. and the Durga are special gifts.. 

More importantly, this henna candle is designed & created by my dear friend Anpu. And she sent it all the way... Feeling blessed!!

This Natraj is a special find as well. Preethi from Indya Kaleidoscope, went on a treasure hunt for me. The work on the base on the Natraj will leave you mesmerised.. 

So this is how it looks all together... Nothing on the wall... just a huge natraj.

I love arranging frames on the wall, and putting up random stuff... Saying that, this certainly took us a while... I had a few different bronze items to put up... but decided to keep them in my closet for now.. 

This is how the room looks now.. 

I know.. I know.. I know the cushions dont match the rug. But nothing really has to match. 

Oh.. and I got this rug from the Sharjah Souq. You should go there.. its such a lovely place to find treasures!!

Hello Monday

To start with, I was not sure what to call this post. 

I have many excuses for not blogging, don't know which one to talk about here.. *smiles*... 

From life generally being busy, to my camera stopped working, and I'm grown a little too lazy... to many many more... *smiles*..

So I'll spare your ears this time... 

Here is a little rickshaw I got from my holiday in Sri Lanka... sometime last year. 

We had such a lovely time in Hikkaduwa... The beach was serene... Oh how I miss holidays.. 

So here is my new priced possession on top of a pile of books.. Oh the books have  story too...
