Fine Art decor...

Hello everyone...how quickly a week has gone by... Between work, family visits, entertaining and other activies, I am yet to start on my art work. Probably will start on a painting...over the weekend. Speaking of paintings, I mostly create my own, and have also made some reproductions. But in recent years, I have started collecting paintings that strikes my eye. Some from the students of JJ school school of Art,..some during my travels, from my lovely friend/sister, our very own Padmaja Madhu.  So when my very own SanthanaKrishnan painting finally arrived last week, I was extremely excited! When my dear friend Divi ( Divya Rajan of SHP featured Mr Santhan Krishnan in her post Doors only please...I fell in love with those gorgeous painted doors! And then one day, during our marathon talking sessions, we decided to buy a painting each. I have to say this, Mr Doors is one of the nicest individuals and very easy to talk to. He dropped the painting, all bubble wrapped at my friends place in Chennai, and my friends parents carried it all the way to Atlanta...

Do you have good friends? Do you really? I do!! I'm blessed... I have a few good friends and a few of them I even call family... I can spend hours with these people... talking about random things... gossiping about our families... sipping our coffees or teas... having a laugh... Sometimes, we don't even talk any sense... 

Now... the 'Made with Love' linky is all about 'me' time... Truth is... I have to steal a few minutes the day... and call it my 'me' time... Its extremely difficult to find this so called 'me' time!! Most days, this is the time, I spend with you (on blogger)... yes.. that's my 'me' time... Some other day, I friends for a coffee, dinner or movie and create some 'me' time... 

Now in June, a small part of my heart came to visit me during her school break *smiles*... Ramie was here from Bangalore and we spend a lot of time together... shopping, talking, gossiping, laughing and even painting our nails.... *smiles*

Here is when she painted 'angry birds' on my nails... Using red, white, black and orange nail paints... and a tooth pick to put everything in shape... This is how it looked... What do you think?

The Weekly Story ~ wk 81

Remember... I said, once I'm done with the cleaning, clearing, decluttering... I'll start the planning process... So now I need your help!!

First let me show you my little living room... 

You've seen this picture ... Haven't you?? Opposite this... is the dining area.... 

So last year, with hues of pink and green... we had the lotus theme in the living room...

This year....  to start with a makeover... I need to decide on a colour scheme..

And that is where, I need your help... I'm battling between... 

1. Burnt Orange & yellow

2. Peacock colours : teal & green

3. Purple : Shades of purple & orange... or purple & grey... or purple & a light green

So do you have any suggestions for me?? What colours should this room be?? or should I simply leave the walls the way they are??

Disneyland Hong Kong..... Fantasy land!!

Can you imagine being a child again? Without fear and worry? Can you imagine believing in magic carpets, mermaids & Santa? That was me!!!!

Last year we celebrated my daughters birthday at Disneyland Hong Kong. She had a blast… it was the best birthday ever!!! But Me…. I had the best time of my life…. I wanted to run around like a little child and believe in Santa again.

We took a bus to the Disneyland Resort, and as we entered … stood Santa. Oh my God.. I cannot tell you how real he looked… I had to run and hug him.

The place itself is magical. All the staff members are friendly and accommodating. My daughter was given a badge that stated ‘its my birthday’… so she was obviously on top of the world. She felt like a princess is what she said! Her eyes sparkled with delight as she got to meet & greet the Disney characters… specially all the princesses. They stopped to write a birthday message and autograph her book. Each character spent time talking to her… and made her day!!

We then went onwards to the Disneyland Park. Its just amazing.. Its like stepping into another world… of magic & happiness. Everyone around you… has a huge smile!!

The shows that take place ... all day long!!

The rides are fascinating. My younger daughter loved Dumbo the Elephnat, while my older one loved the Tea cup ride, my husband and brother had be dragged from the Techno / Space age rides… Me on the other hand… was living in fantasyland!!!

The parade was fantastic. Here is a picture of Mickey. My kids followed the parade, holding on to the rope…. Till the very end!!

By day … this is how Cinderella’s castle looked…


And by night… it was absolutely stunning. And when the fireworks started… my heart just skipped a beat!!!

And after a long night, when we went back to the hotel… there was so much to see!!! This is a picture of the goodies in the toilet!!!

I switched on the TV and it played all the Disney cartoons and movies… Sorry!! I just had to stay awake!

We left Disney via train to the airport… and the windows were Mickey shaped… and it had loads of momentos… We just did not want ot get off!!

I’ve promised to take my younger kid to Disney in Oralando for her 6th birthday!! I’ll go back to Disneyland for sure… I loved the experience… and the simplicity of live!!
