Wall art

You've seen the peacock wall in the old home.... Inspired by the creativity of that weekend, we ventured out to do something different this time...

The idea was to get a graffiti kind of look in the background... But for now... I have no motivation to complete this... Infact I'm thinking of painting the wall white again and waiting for motivation to come my way...

A complete view... The painting is incomplete, so don't judge *smiles*.... The right side has a few sketches that have not even been painted...

If I found the motivation to do the outlines and the shading... it would look better... but for now... NO!! That ain't happening!!

I sure hope you like it... Please be very polite with your comments... and I'm already enough upset about this wall... *sobs*...

Hey... but 2012... will probably bring a new inspiration my way!! *smiles*

  2. I'm not sure why you don't like it? It just needs a bit of drama with a bold outline ..
The peacock covered the whole wall and this one is a lot more subtle but very very elegant. Give it some time.. :) inspiration will strike!

  11. I would suggest u to give the finishing touches and see for u r self,DO NOT paint the wall white u may never know this might be the best piece of art u have ever done.
I think the designs surrounding the main figure r receiving more attention because of the details and colors, brighten up the center figure and repeat the details from the surrounding designs, this will also give some sense of flow and will tie every thing together instead of randomly being placed,I repeat this is going to be a master piece.

  13. Patty, Really creative. Please do finish the painting and then may be you can frame the whole thing with wood trim (either nail it or glue to the wall. Will give the look of a large painting. I would have added a contasting background color though if I were frmaing it, migh tbe difficult now. How did you come up with the idea? All the designs compliment each toher.

  15. Patty, painting a wall is a bold act and i have done it to know how unsure one can feel while doing something like this.....i had done a mougli on my wall and i can so well relate to what u are feeling right now....and even after completing it, I felt it was the worst art work i have ever done but to my surprise people seem to love it the most....so frankly...many a times ur viewers just surprise u.....stop looking at this art work for a while (cover it with paper and some good quality tape) and let the feeling that u have right now, fade away....u will be surprised to wake up one morning with some fanstastic ideas and overwhelming energy!! I know it will....it happens to me and i believe it happens to every artist on this planet !!

  16. Painting a wall is sure a bold act. But your painting looks raw, and gorgeous! The music and dance theme and coloring is great. Don't whitewash them..

  17. I add my request, along with everyone else here that you should just give it some more time. The dancer has all the potential of turning into a vibrant three dimensional focus point. Keep it for some more time, and, I am sure, she will make make herself a lively presence in your dining room.

  18. It is a lovely piece of art. I feel the white wall takes away from the bold art on the wall. Is there any way you could pain the entire wall? It really is a wonderful depiction of the dance forms. I can see ballet and Indian dances in there. Visualize how it would look by taking a printout and coloring all around and make the drawings pop. The white is just swallowing up all the color on the wall. My very humble and unartistic observation.

  19. Hey Patty,

    How have you been?

I'd say.. go ahead and finish the painting. Since you are already half way home, add the details and enjoy the look. Just in case you don't find it to be as expected (the chances of which are bleak), the option of a new start is always there.

For now, please don't give up on this.

  20. It looks great so far. You have GOT to finish it! When you are so submerged in creativity it is best to take a step back or even a short break and go back to it with renewed enthusiasm and energy. You have come so far it would be a shame to paint over it.

  21. Seriously what are you upset about?? Sure your peacock wall was a class of its own but this wall just needs a bit more work to end up just as stunning...
